Forensic Telecommunications Services Ltd. (FTS)
FTS was founded in 2000 by Jonathan Clark MBE FRSA in response to a growing need within the Law Enforcement community to access potential digital evidence which can be recovered from all telecommunications devices and to analyse network records for criminal investigations.
Our management structure consists of specialists in telecommunications, electronics and forensic science in addition to ex-police officers, ex-SIO’s and police accredited trainers.
Shaun Hipgrave - Managing Director
A former police officer with Northumbria Police, Shaun joined FTS in 2003 and has been the company’s Commercial Director since 2005. He served for nine years in the British Army and 13 years in the police service, mainly working in serious crime investigation. He has spent the last 10 years advising on telecoms investigations in major enquiries and developed the FTS Telecoms Investigators course in 2005. Accredited by Teesside University, the course has been delivered to more than 700 detectives and telecoms analysts in the UK and abroad. He has a BA (Hons) degree in Criminology and Law from the University of Northumbria.
Nikki Desperles CIMA - Finance and IT Director
Nikki has had a varied finance career, travelling around a great deal, including a 4 year assignment in Germany. Nikki has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants since 1992, and joined FTS from a Global Automotive Company in 2007.
Trevor Fordy - Specialist Telecoms Advisor (STA) Manager
Trevor is a former Police Officer, having served 34 years with Northumbria Police, including the Regional Crime Squads and Drugs Wings. He spent 31 of those years as an Investigator and the last 6 years of service as Det. Supt (Higher Range 2) and S.I.O investigating homicide. Trevor is also a former member of the ACPO National Working Group for missing persons.
Chris Tomlin - Forensic Manager
Chris is a former Police Officer having served 21 years with Kent Police, including time as a Det. Sgt in Criminal Investigation and Intelligence. He spent the last 5 years of his career as a Home Office Accredited Telecoms SPoC manager and has experience in District CID, Child and Public Protection and Prison Intelligence. Chris has worked for FTS since early 2008 and is the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Technical Manager responsible for designing and managing forensic processes and systems within the company's laboratories.
Hans Taylor – Operational Development Manger
Hans has over 22 years experience in high technology and optoelectronics manufacturing organisations. He specialises in the design and implementation of ISO complaint operational systems in the areas of business management, marketing and products / service provision. Working for FTS since 2006 Hans is the FTS Quality Manager, has implemented ISO/IEC 17025:2005 compliant management and technical systems within FTS and is the contracts liaison for all areas of the business.
Jonathan Clark MBE FRSA - Chairman & Founder
Jonathan has over 30 years experience in the Telecommunications Industry and is an independent advisor to UK Government regarding EU data retention and its use for law enforcement purposes. Chairman and subsequently Honary President of the Federation of Communication Services (FCS). Also the owner of several successful telecommunication companies involved in cellular communication, paging and mobile phone billing systems.
